Braun Silk Epil 5-511 Wet and Dry Cordless Epilator is available in Depilatories
An extra gentle epilation experience in or out of water. Developed for ease of use, comfort and great results, this removes even the shortest hair that wax can't catch, leaving skin silky smooth for up to four weeks. MicroGrip tweezer technology removes more hair in each stroke, even the shortest ones (0.5mm), whilst the epilator's high frequency massage system stimulates the skin and effectively soothes the plucking sensation during epilation to maximize your skin comfort. SoftLift Tips effectively lift even flat-lying hair and help guide them to the tweezers for removal. The Silk-épil 5 also comes with two speed settings allowing you to easily flick between two modes of use for more specialised performance: speed 1 for slow gentle epilation, ideal for grooming delicate and sensitive areas; speed 2 on the other hand offers faster efficient epilation, ideal for scouring tougher areas such as the legs. Can be used in the bath or shower for a gentler epilation experience. A unique anti-slip rubber grip pad on the body of the epilator ensures easy use in wet conditions. This epilator is cordless.

Mrs D writes: The Braun Silk Epil 5 Wet & Dry is a new variant in the Silk Epil 5 series, which sits towards the bottom end of the Braun range. The other series are 3, 7, 9.
The 5 series in general is very good. Not too many bells and whistles, but a good job of epilating with 40 tweezers. Where they are a bit limited is that they are mains powered. The wet & dry variant is cordless, obviously - there are some rules about using mains appliances in the shower - and has a narrower tweezer roller, with a reduction to 28 tweezers. The net result is that it is okay, but only just.
For less money right now, you can get the series 7 wet & dry and that has 40 tweezers, which will have your legs smooth a lot quicker. In terms of official RRP price, the series 7 is much more expensive, but these things never sell for RRP, so it is worth doing a bit of price research.
At some point the price of this one will come down to a sensible level, which is in the £30-40...

The Braun Silk Epil 5 comes nicely packaged and so would make a nice gift if this has been asked for by someone and you were getting this for them. It comes with one epilator head which is already attached to the main unit in the box along with a small brush for cleaning, instruction book and a two pin charging lead like most bathroom/hygiene products (toothbrushes, shavers etc) nowadays and so you will need a two pin to three pin adapter if like me you don't have any two pin plugs at home.
Here's whats in the box:-
Silk-épil 5 (5-511 model)
Charging Lead with 2 pin plug
Cleaning Brush
Instruction Booklet/Guide
The Silk-épil 5 is a no frills epilator as it doesn't come with the numerous attachments that other models from Braun do but it does the job perfectly well. The epil 5 has two speed settings with the slower speed best for new epilator users and the faster speed for experienced users. It has a light that comes on...

I'm a long term user of epilators and so when I was offered the chance to try the new Silk Epil 5-511 wet and dry I was more than happy.
This is a really good epilator, Braun are the leaders in the field of epilation and anyone who has tried any other brand than Braun and then used a Braun (no matter what model) will know this. They are miles ahead of the competition.
The main difference between this and the other 5 series is that this one can be used whilst in the bath or shower. Whilst this may not seem like much for those with sensitive skin it will make a big difference to the level of discomfort they feel when using an epilator. Concerning discomfort whilst using an epilator I would like to say that there are some things that can can be done to minimise this - for example, exfoliate first - use it in a shower/bath - hold your skin taut - don't press down too hard. However the most important thing is that epilation is not as sore as waxing and as you use...
