Are they the real McCoy ?, 9 Mar. 2017

I have just received the 6 bottles - which arrived promptly however they are in a different bottle which is round and transparent unlike the original white thin bottles. In addition there are no ingredients on the reverse (the original clearly states the ingredients). Therefore I am dearly hoping that these are in fact genuine and do contain citronella - otherwise I will be mosquito bait on my trip to the Caribbean next week.

was recommended to use as mosquito and insect repellant as the shop repellants include deet which is poisonous and harmful to humans being pesticides,my son works in the forrest on occasions and has taken a bottle with him to use,my friend also uses it on her horses as they are bothered by midges etc,we are going abroad for hols and needed to be protected knowing we are not spraying ourselves with harmfull stuff,the clinic told my son to buy repellants containing deet for his work abroad or he would be wasting his money.i have looked up about deet and not good for humans,and so glad I have found avon skin so soft,which will also benefit skin at the same time, it also smells lovely and dries nice and soft too.will certainly use this seller again,one happy customer

This is a strange one. The only reason I bought this was to use it as a mosquito repellent. The family used this for two weeks in Jamaica. Now, I'm lucky enough to taste pretty foul to mosquitos or at least not as nice as the rest of my family. I never get bitten when they are around as juicy, sweeter alternatives for the mossies. However, when I used this, I got bitten!!! Only a couple of times but those suckers itch!

My daughter suffers terribly from bites - when she used this she had far fewer bites than normal - only 3 over the course of two weeks. She'd normally rack up 3 bites in 2 minutes! For the sake of experimenting she used a well known chemical repellant one night. Her skin felt slightly painful and it melted her plastic all inclusive wrist band! She went back to using this. I know which I'd rather use.

So, does this work as a mosquito repellant? I think it does, though strangely not for me. It certainly makes your skin feel nicer than a deet...
