Having tried a few different epilators in my time, I am used to the feeling and don't find it hurts on my legs much. However I got a friend to try this and she found it painful as a new user. I would point out that if you're used to waxing, this is much less painful- and as you keep using it, the hair becomes finer and it will hurt less.
Comparing this to previous Braun models. this is somewhat improved because the head is wider, allowing you to get more hairs at the same time. The pointy massaging rollers don't do anything for me and nor did they help my friend. Using the basic cap is best. The light is useful as you can see what you're doing very well, and it's great that you can use it in the bath to help soothe the skin (which also means this is much easier to clean than a dry epilator).
Now for the extras. The shaver/trimmer head is a useful addition. Take it from me, if you have left your underarm hair to grow too long, it's really painful to epilate it, so...
As someone who has only ever used a small facial epilator before I was expecting this to really hurt, I mean like “why do I put myself through this pain” hurt… it didn’t really hurt all that much to be honest and so now, worryingly, I think I may be a little disappointed about it not hurting enough!
The epilator did a remarkably good job on my legs, I went over each area a couple of times and was left with smooth hair free skin- good enough to go without tights/ leggings/ stockings etc which will be ideal in the summer months. Arm pits I must admit were more painful and though this did a very good job, I didn’t go over the area quite as much as I had done on my legs so I did miss a few hairs here and there.
The addition of a light to help spot any stray hairs was a nice touch and meant that you can do a really good job, this added to the fact that the head pivots to cover the curves and contours of your body means that you can do a really...
