This is soooooooo useless, the surface of this dog nail file is barely rough at all and except for the smallest, thinnest claws is really not fit for purpose.

The problem with buying items like this is that the photos, because they are taken through the packaging, do not give the prospective buyer a good idea of the texture. Even if you looked at it in a Pet Shop, being in a sealed packet, you would not be much better off because it is only when you actually touch it and use it that you really find that it is barely of use for your own finger nails!!

Dogs nails are so strong and thick, they have to be, these gorgeous animals are literally on their paws all day and unless they are a Search and Rescue type dog they are not wearing any protection, so strong claws are a must.

The only good thing I can say about this file is that it has a nice comfortable handle. It will be absolutely no good on "Amber" my larger mongrel. On "Maisy", a small young Border...

When it arrived it was in a seeled packaging, and it does the job. However... I have a very nervous/scared chocolate labrodore and shes just frightened of grooming tools. This item she wasnt that scared of and it did the job and it smoothed out the rough edges. I would recommend to start grooming with this. :)
