A Sticky Problem, 8 Mar. 2013
I have used pre-shave oils for a few years now. My usual method is to spread a small amount over my face before adding a shaving cream. I find they make the razor glide more easily and lead to a better shave.The oils I have principally used are King of Shaves Alpha Oil and more recently, eShave oil. Both are very good.I love the Anthony Logistics range. Their shaving cream, body wash and afteshave balm are all superb. However, with the shaving oil, it has all gone wrong.The packaging is good. A reassuringly weighty glass bottle, although I don't like the wide opening given that you should only need a tiny amount. I then realised the wide opening was due to the fact that the oil is so thick. And Sticky. After applying the oil to a wet face, my skin felt tacky, the opposite of what I want before a shave.At the premium price point I expected an excellent oil. What I got was an oil that doesn't even do what it is supposed to do.
