Superb blade at a great price, 15 Dec. 2015

The Astra Superior Platinum blades, aka "Astra Greens", are highly regarded among DE shavers for very good reason. They cut effortlessly through my beard with no pressure on the razor, leaving no irritation afterwards. The blade remains sharp, meaning that I can sneak an extra shave out of one if I want - but they are so remarkably cheap that I don't feel I have to eke anything else out of a blade that is already extremely good value for money.Ultimately, choosing a "go-to" blade will depend on your particular combination of beard and skin type, so what works for one doesn't always work for another. But these blades have a well-deserved reputation for being among the best in the market place, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

My favourite double-edged razor blade - Sharp, smooth and inexpensive!, 8 Jan. 2016

These are an absolutely superb double edged blade and very well priced. I use these blades in a Muhle R89 Grande razor, which is not the most aggressive double-edged razor out there, but is easy to control, classic and feels good in the hand.

Whilst these blades are not the sharpest out there (that accolade probably goes to Feather blades), what they are is incredibly smooth. I can usually get a damn fine shave with two passes of the Astra blades with no irritation. I can get a shave as smooth as a baby's backside with a third pass and still not have any irritation.

With a Feather blade, it'd still take me two or three passes to achieve the same level of shave. However, one slip of concentration or one error in technique and I'm rewarded with a weeping nick in no time. I'm always a little bit on edge with Feathers, but with these razors I can enjoy the process without any worries.

Very happy with the quality. Great shaves once you hone your skills in DE safety razors, way better and more affordable option over multi bladed cartridge razors. In my opinion cleaner shaves as well since you don't use single razor blade as much as cartridge razor (less bacteria).4 stars, because they don't come in plastic containers with slot for disposing used blades. so you will have to find a responsible way of disposing them.I got thick and hard beard growth and I'm happy with the sharpness and smoothness of this product.
