I ordered this to replace a Wahl trimmer that didn't have the strength to cut my beard. This has no problems at all trimming thick hair. And I like trimmers that use AA batteries as I can order high-quality rechargable ones that charge up much faster than any rechargable trimmer. I'm using
batteries and a Nitecore Intellicharge i2 charger.
It comes with four combs in total: an adjustable one if you maintain a longer haired beard, and three short fixed ones that are perfect for the moustache and eyebrow areas.
