Made the mistake of buying this in the lightening deals as a gift for a friend. Looks so much less than it cost. Its tiny, the picture round the ball is tear off plastic and the base is cardboard. Would feel embarrassed giving this as a gift by itself! Can't comment on the smell as its sealed with silver paper. And now amazon are selling it cheaper than the lightening deal offer. Feeling robbed!!

It looks like a lovely snow globe that can be kept when the contents have been used.I was very disappointed to see that the base is really a strip of paper.
