I must admit that I purchase quite a few Baylis & Harding sets throughout the year and especially at Christmas time however these sets are always women's sets and I don't think except for recently that I have actually given my Husband a male Baylis & Harding set to use and so this set has been a little bit of an eye opener as it is a really lovely set.
The set contains:-
1 x 130ml Amber & Sandalwood Shower Gel
1 x 300ml Amber & Sandalwood Hair & Body Wash
1 x 130ml Amber & Sandalwood Aftershave Balm
1 x 150g Amber & Sandalwood Cleansing Soap
1 x Grey Washbag
All of the Amber & Sandalwood products smell wonderful and are presented in grey containers (box for the soap) with gold lids. The soap is also wrapped in a clear plastic cover to keep its scent and each of the containers also has a foil seal.

This comes in a ridiculously oversized box. Initially, I thought I had been sent an expensive boxed shirt. I guess it makes it look good, but it does play on the environmentally conscious part of my mind. That aside, I set off to the shower with a wash bag full of products. I started with the hair and body wash and then..... it dawned on me that I didn't actually need the body wash and soap, not unless I needed to wash my body again with the shower gel and again with the soap. It seemed a bit pointless to have such similar items in a wash kit. You basically have 3 ways of washing your body and an aftershave balm. Other than the mode of application, I didn't find any great difference in the end result between the wash products - you are left feeling clean and smelling nice whichever one you use. The balm was quite good, absorbed quickly and not overly greasy. The wash bag was a nice addition and a reasonable size to store sufficient products for a few nights away from home...

I've reviewed a few men's cosmetic gift sets recently, of varying size and shapes. I was surprised when this one arrived in the post as the box is MASSIVE! The picture doesn't do justice to the size of the packaging, and it's worth knowing this if you're ordering the set as a gift as you'll need plenty of wrapping paper!
In the package you get:
- A grey tweed style wash-bag with a fake leather trim. It's fairly good looking and spacious, but I'm not sure how long it'll last.
- A 300ml bottle of hair and body wash. A good size bottle which cleans well without drying the skin out. I found the fragrance to be a little too woody for my liking, and also a bit reminiscent of potpourri!
- A 130 ml shower-gel. As the previous reviewer has commented, there seems very little point in having a hair and body wash and a separate shower-gel as they are essentially the same products.
- A 130 ml aftershave balm. This, of course, has the same fragrance as the other...
