Having used my fingers, brushes and even cheap copies of beauty blenders to apply my foundation and never really getting a smooth finish that covered up my visible pores and acne scarring I was excited to try the Luxe Elixir Beauty Blender.
It is a teardropped shaped item, that comes in a plastic box - enough packaging to protect it, and you can find clear instructions on the back of it. They are simple to follow, you dampen the sponge, wring out any excess then dab it into your make-up and bounce/press it on your face. By applying water first, you create a barrier between the product and the sponge which means you don't lose your foundation inside the sponge. After 1-2 uses you need to rinse and clean the sponge with mild cleanser in order to keep it hygienic.
The blender is quite dense and squidgy and very soft on the surface. It's shape makes it ideal for distributing your foundation over your face - you have broader surfaces of the blender for larger areas...

This is without a doubt, a quality beauty blender. It is the right size and has the correct density/texture for perfect blending application. I usually use cheap wedge sponges to apply my foundation and brushes for my concealer and bronzer when I'm contouring but I'm really liking this blending sponge fromLuxe Elixir. First it doesn't absorb and waste so much of my make up likes the cheaper ones do and it seems made to last without tearing or peeling apart. It also has a good texture and density. The blender really makes the application smoother and I can be more precise and detailed with my contour lines and shading. It even works well for smudging eyeliner for a smokier look and for softening my eyebrow pencil if I accidentally make them too bold. I can clean it easily with warm soap and water and I usually set it in an empty drawer of my makeup organiser to dry. The makeup blender sponge arrived in a plastic transparent box. It is elliptical shaped (egg-shaped) and coloured a very bright pink colour. It’s perfect for applying foundation and concealer whether they be in liquid or powder form. It feels really dense when dry but at the same time has a soft velvety feel to it. It doesn't appear as though it will lose it's shape or fall apart anytime soon. I prefer to use it damp as I have dry skin, but you can also use it dry.
