Great value..a bargain..each one lasting ages..rough side very good for quick results,then finish off by using finer grain for smooth edges.as a qualified manicurist these are gentle enough for real nails and strong enough for synthetic nails. Always sweep from each side of the nail to the centre..avoid scraping from side to side as this weakens nails causing breakage.

Excellent, quite thick compared to other emery boards. The rough side is good for slightly rough skin around the nails but a bit harsh for the nails themselves. The smooth side is perfect for nails. I'm not sure what the purpose of the banana shape is, to be honest, but it seems to help in seeing what I'm doing.
