Great daily ball shaver! ;) Badly let down by the curly cable!, 25 Nov. 2016

This is a great shaver for really thin sensitive say potentially wrinkly skin ;) as it can't ever catch, cut or damage the skin unlike the ones with long hair trimmers as part of the blade like the higher end Braun and the Philips rotatory shavers. BUT the cable completely lets it down! It's a curly sprung cable that is only 1 foot long normally and then stretches but it's want's to coil back up so strongly that it pulls the plug out of the shaver if it's more than 1.5 foot away from the plug! I got this one rather than the battery one as battery ones tend to be less powerful and slower especially towards the end of a shave. Braun don't even do a straight cable for this so I am going to have to cut the current curly part of the cable out and replace it with a straight cable!

Also remember as it doesn't have a long hair trimmer it will NOT shave hair over about 1-3mm long so expect to run a the back trimmer over any areas the first time you shave (and be careful as this CAN...

I had a Braun 3612 mains/rechargeable razor for years and it was excellent, with a few niggles. Then something shorted out inside it and I had to buy a new one. (No-one will repair old razors, it seems). I had high expectations for this one but after 6 months or so I am disappointed that the various design flaws in the 3612 are still here.... the razor does not come with a case, just a clip-on protector for the foil - which has slots in it to allow the thing to dry out. Shove it in an overnight bag with, for example, a comb, and you might have the comb making holes in the foil.... If you don't clean it properly, stubble builds up and the foil head will pop off, because stubble gathers in the slot where the foil head assembly seats on the razor. The coiled cable (this is mains only) is short and tightly coiled - so you need to be close to the mains plug otherwise you pull the cable out. It does, though, shave my stubble off perfectly well and I haven't seen some of the other...

Pretty poor to be honest., 12 May 2017

I thought this might be okay for the price because it's a mains only shaver with no bells and whistles. The bottom line though is that it feels cheap and flimsy and severely underperforms. It takes a lot of time and effort to get anything resembling a close shave with this and it's not worth the low price in my opinion.
