Good shave, nothing special, 2 Sept. 2016

I was given this item for free as part of a promotion by Braun via Bzzagent.co.uk. My review is based on my personal use of the product.

The design of the shaver is very sturdy and I had absolutely no problems using it. The pivoting head allowed a good range of angles for problem areas and it gave a very good shave. Used daily I found it worked well and I was happy with the results, although as I tend to prefer manual razors when I have time, I still didn't feel that it was as close as I'd like. If you mainly use electric then you will be happy with it.

In terms of cleaning and maintenance, I found the base and washing method to be very good at its job, BUT I wasn't blown away by it. It seemed to be more of a gimmick rather than giving it a better clean than I could have managed by hand.

I hadn't used an electric shaver since 2005. I was 18 and my experience with them wasn't great. It may have been my youthful skin, however, 10 years of manual razor shaving was the result as my last electric shaver burnt my face to bits (really badly) with razor rash. I never looked at a electric shaver again.

Then there was the Braun 9290 cc!

The packaging was pretty nifty and the insides were pretty smart too. I particularly appreciated the carry case that comes with it to keep it clean and for travel purposes also. This included a tiny brush to get at the little nooks inside the shaver too pre-self cleansing.

Next best thing to a wet shave, 5 Sept. 2016

Having started shaving over 20 years ago, I had always used rotary electric shavers made by another well know manufacturer, up until a couple of years ago when I was asked to try a Braun series 3 shaver and loved it. Now Braun have released the new 9 and I was lucky enough to receive a free one to try.

They have really surpassed themselves with the new series 9, the moving head allows you to get a really close shave without irritation or discomfort, but you can also lock it in position for those difficult areas (for me the base of my neck and my chin).

If you haven't tried an electric shaver or have only used a rotary, I would strongly suggest giving the Series 9 a go.

As a bonus on top of an excellent product, you also get a cleaning station, this removes all the hair trimmings and lubricates and sterilises the head before your next use. With the series 9, the station analyses the state of the head before cleaning and then select from 1 of 3 cleaning...
