A well designed and ergonomic epilator, obviously for legs only and nowhere else. Quite operation, dual speed settings to give extra control, though the higher one is rather aggressive apparently. Comes with removable heads for different hair types and the usual soothing gel which you can chill to ease the experience. For best results expect to spend some time going over the same area a few times. Apparently there are better epilators out there but this does have some good points around size, sound levels and carry case.Note it comes with a two pin, bathroom safety plug which is sensible-ish from one point of view but assumes you only epilate in the bathroom. If you need to use this elsewhere you'll need a plug converter which are pretty common but an additional extra.

Hello there. So at the time of writing this, I've just de-fuzzed my legs using two different techniques -- the

and now this, the Braun Silk-Epil 5 5180 Legs Epilator Purple.

I've used an Epilator before, but not for a long while, so I knew that the pain of having individual hair tweezed out one at a time was pretty painful, but with 40 close-grip tweezers -- what am I -- a masochist?

Strange though, because although it does hurt at first-- massively, that doesn't last for long, so stick with it gals. Believe me, it is worth it, and it didn't take me long before I found myself using the epilator just like a normal razor during my first use. The increased close-grips tweezer effect really does make for for better removal of even the shortest hairs and it did...

I obtained this Braun Silk-Epil 5 5180 Legs Epilator for my wife who has always cursed the need to wax her legs to remove unwanted hair. Looking for alternatives has become something of an obsession over the years.

On the plus side: Braun's Silk-Epil 5 5180 Legs Epilator removes hairs efficiently enough, is quick & easy to use thanks to the clear instructions & proves itself far less messy than waxing. Furthermore, the 'cool patch' & 'silk' are useful additions.

My wife knew that epilators in general have a reputation for being painful but nothing on earth prepared her for the excruciating pain she felt using this epilator, where you feel each individual hair being ripped out. By comparison, when waxing, the pain comes all at once. After the first strip, that area of your leg remains numb & you don't feel much pain on repeated strips. Additionally my wife has found subsequent regrowth to be patchy.
