Wish I'd bought one years ago!!, 7 Oct. 2014

After having hesitated to buy an epilator for several years (and even then taking a good while to actually decide which I wanted and taking the plunge), I finally bought the Braun Silk-Epil in June.

I am SO pleased I bought this. It has made my life so much easier in terms of time devoted to hair management and I have never had such a smooth finish. My skin used to get so sore from constant shaving/ waxing/ removal creams and now it has finally settled down.

The first time you use is definitely the most painful, but if you can push past that then successive times really aren't so bad, partly because the hairs are thinner and partly because they won't all grow back at once, so you're actually having to pull less out each time. There is even a 'massager' attachment to make it less painful, but other than the first few strips I've never really used this and have still been fine.

Be warned on sensitive areas: my armpits were very painful to do first time...

Good epilator, does the job with very little pain compared to other models, 27 Nov. 2015

I bought this to replace an old Philips Satinelle that I had for years and the cord starts playing up.

I come from South of France so I started removing my hair since I was quite young because of all the beach, swimming pool, long lasting summers etc.. I first used razors and quickly moved on to waxing as I don't like how the hair grows back after shaving. Wax gives really good results but I preferred a good fuss free epilator for the legs, it's quick and easy if you don't mind the pain.

I ordered this one with "Free No rush delivery" option and it arrived the next day anyway, very glad and I couldn't wait to try it straight away and was quite happy to see that the two pins plug works with my regular EU to UK adaptor, so if you already have one, don't rush into buying a "two pins plug adaptor".

I wouldn't say that the Braun Silk Epil is pain free as I could read in some reviews, but it is indeed much less painful than traditional...

I've been using the Silk-epil for legs for about 15 years - the yelps of pain from other reviews are just a distant memory. But I couldn't find any reviews on the facial epilator so was a bit nervous about my latest purchase, which I made specifically for the face attachment. Would it hurt? Would it leave my face red raw? Would it leave me with a 5 o'clock shadow? So first try, I used the frozen gel pack to numb my face and had aloe vera at the ready for any soreness. Also, used it on a Friday evening to give me the weekend to recover from any redness/soreness. It's useful that there are two speeds so I can go slowly, also the light (which I don't find particlarly helpful for my legs) is useful. The only problem I have experienced is getting the right angle to catch all the hair but practice helps. It tingles when pulling out the hairs but not unbearably painful (if you've used an epilator before I think you'd be ok with it). In my case, no redness, no soreness, no 5 o'clock shadow,...
