Very comfortable shave. Great value, 19 Jun. 2014

I opted for this shaver due to Braun's boast of "improved performance on three-day beards". I usually only shave twice a week & have thick, dark hair, so this is ideal for me. And I have to say that I'm very pleased with the results. My previous shaver was a 790cc - a much more expensive Braun model, which cumulatively shaves closer if you use it every day. So I was pleasantly surprised that the 340s impressed me as much as it did.

It ultimately gave a good, close shave, even after a weeks' worth of growth. But in order to get that close shave, I had to go over it a lot more times than I normally have to with the 790cc. The precision long-hair trimmer really comes into its own when tackling the most stubborn spots. And yet despite this, it was still a more comfortable shave which left me with the least amount of irritation I've ever had from an electric razor. This is certainly an aspect of shavers which has come on hugely over the years & I'm thoroughly grateful...

Great shave without the unnecessary add-ons, 29 May 2014

A no-nonsense, value shaver, which gives a superb close shave. I've used several Braun models over the years, and this ticks all the boxes, while avoiding the unnecessary extra bells and whistles its higher-end counterparts seem to have in overabundance. The product is really pared down - there's not even a travel case or sleeve - but what you do get is a very high quality shaver.The head has a good spring to it, and glides across the contours of my face easily. My skin is quite sensitive, but the shaver is gentle enough on it despite giving a really close cut. It charges quickly (about an hour), and provides almost the same time in shaving (at least enough for a fair few days between charges).Judging it on the quality of the shave, it's at least as good as Braun's higher-end models, not to mention less complicated and more compact. A great shaver for travelling (or simply saving space in the bathroom at home!).

It could have shaved in half the time..., 21 April 2014

I've had a lot of shavers now. It takes a lot to impress me with them. This is a pretty shaver, nice blue bits and lights that shine. Smart buttons etc. Hmmph, nice but it's not going to win me over like that. Nice box it comes in, a lead and a brush...oh and an instruction manual, but because English wasn't the first language I sort of got bored with that pretty quickly. It also has a humungous clear plastic cover. Really big, to cover almost half the shaver. (more on that later)

So, I don't know if you've ever heard the saying (try and imagine this being said in a thick 'New Yoiker' accent) @I've got a Braun and it's never done me wrong'. I like Braun as a make, they're usually pretty decent electrical items...but I'm not going to be swayed by that.

I've been leaving my face to grow for 4 days. It's gone from the tough bristley spikey feel to now starting to feel like a soft fur. (photo's in the image gallery of before and after). My old shaver, a Wahl, would have managed...
