I've been keeping a close crop on my own hair (what's left of it) for a while now and I've amassed quite a collection of hair clippers, plus several stubble trimmers, over the years. This Braun cruZer is the first combination device I've tried and I was a bit concerned that while trying to be both a stubble and a hair trimmer, it might fall between the two stools and be good at neither job.
A previous complaint with both stubble and hair trimmers was how sharp and spiky the clip-on combs often are - you sometimes feel like you're dragging a fork across your face! Kudos to Braun for completely avoiding that issue and making the combs on the cruZer with rounded and comfortable ends, they're really a pleasure to use. The two combs are easily swappable but held securely onto the trimmer whilst in use. They're adjustable for different hair lengths, the stubble comb goes from 1~11mm and the hair comb from 10~20mm, and each 2mm variation locks into place so the comb doesn't...

On the face of it this looks like a great all-in-one product. I already have a Remington clipper but faffing around with different combs for different lengths does get to be a bit tiresome, and then I need to use a different unit to do more precise trimming and shaping. This Braun device looks like it does everything.
And it does everything, although still misses in a few places. It's good in that there are two combs - one works in increments from 1mm to about 10mm, the other from 10-20mm. The first is great for trimming my beard and eyebrows if they get a bit bushy, and since it did well enough there I trusted the device to try trimming my hair. There, too, it worked well.
It does lack tapered comb attachments which are useful for trimming above the ears but that's not really a big deal. It has a built-in precision trimmer which works but is a little on the small side, especially as the larger blades aren't great for trimming close to the skin (i.e. the...

From Braun comes a powerful and adjustable beard trimmer that features a stainless steel element, a beard comb that you can set to your own preference of length and a hair comb that you can again set for your desired length.
It's great to be able to use one device for both beard and hair grooming as opposed to having to carry two separate gadgets (as well and possible chargers). It's very easy to use and changing heads is also straightforward.
The trimmer doesn't take long to change and manages to hold its battery strength well, however it is fitted with a two-pin plug which means you can only use it with a shaving socket (i.e. in the bathroom) or you'll have to buy an adaptor.
Some of the functions take a bit of trial and error to master and it would be best to practice with the length settings carefully as they produce a different result from what your use to.
