FANTASTIC & WORKS!, 5 Aug. 2011

I have always had a Brazilian Wax done professionaly at a salon. This can be quite pricey, ranging from £30 -£50 depending where you get it done. The price is one thing but the embarassment of showing your bits off to a stranger, no matter how professional, and having to contort yourself into strange positions was never pleasant, Hence i decided to look up a product online and if I could do this myself.

The reviews were good and I decided to give it a try. I am really glad I did.

I’ve spent hundreds of pounds getting regular Hollywood waxes in salons, so thought to save myself some money I would try doing it myself at home. I felt comfortable doing it myself due to the number of times I have had it done professionally and picked up the technique – I wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself if you have never had a professional wax before!!

I use a wax heater for convenience so I don’t have to stop halfway through the waxing session to reheat the wax. I set the heater to low, as you don’t want the wax to be too runny and liquid – it needs to be thick enough so you can spread it on and leave a bit of a ‘handle’ so you can pull it off when it has set a bit. You don’t want it to be really runny or it will go everywhere and dry instantly, meaning it will be all flaky or it will be too brittle to remove comfortably. Again, this is why going to a salon first helps as you know what the consistency of the wax...
