I like the performance, the lasting effects and the colour, but I don't love the stickiness of the product. Sedona Sands shade., 1 Oct. 2015

I'm a light-ish skinned Asian who loves all things pink, but I have to be careful with make-up because some shades of pink can look rather garish on me. I was so pleased to see that this shade that's very slightly darker than baby pink, looks OK against my skin and that it doesn't look as if I'm 'mutton dressed as lamb' at age 46. I also like that it goes on smoothly and doesn't settle into the tiny grooves/folds on my lips, making them look lined and old. Some pinks can look too young on me, but this looked rather subtle.

Put on at 7 a.m. before I went to work, this lasted through a cup of coffee, several cups of water, some fruit at break time, but finally came off a little with a salad lunch at 12.30p.m. The colour barely came off against vending machine cups, and didn't come off on my collar when I turned my head, or when I brushed my hand against my lips. My lips felt moisturised and I didn't need to keep moisturising them, but I didn't like the slightly sticky feel...

Gentle on the Lips and the Planet, 25 Sept. 2015

I like the Burt's Bees range as they're gentle on the planet and have good green credentials, so I was delighted to try this product out.

It comes with a very firm clear plastic lid with star grips embossed around the edge, so it doesn't come off in a handbag, which is a definite plus!

The ingredients are important to me as I have millions of allergies:

Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, candelilla cera (euphorbia cerifera wax, cire de candelilla), cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), cera carnauba (copernicia cerifera wax, cire de carnauba), butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, hydrogenated vegetable oil, aleurites moluccana seed oil*, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, tocopherol, lecithin, silica, glycine soja (soybean) oil.

So far, so good.

Very moisturising, not tacky - a surprising product, 15 Sept. 2015

At first glance, this product DOES look like a crayon, and actually even SMELLS like a crayon. I know very little about the Burt's Bees company but I'm guessing as their products are 100% natural, that this is a bees wax crayon probably infused with something like cocoa butter or shea butter.

The colour itself (Sedona Sands) is a very subtle beige-pink, just a little darker than my natural lips but not dark enough to look unnatural or obvious. It's a very subtle "Less-is-more" almost "nude" colour. It goes on very smoothly, unlike a lot of lip crayons and stains I've tried in the past, putting this on feels more like applying a lipbalm than a lipstick, you don't feel that tacky drag of the product clinging to you, it seems to almost melt on smoothly just enough to coat your lips without making them feel clogged or greasy.

Hours later and my lips still feel very moisturised and the colour seems to have stayed on. Rubbing my lips against my hand...
