Nice gift set with hand cream and two lip balms, 17 Sept. 2015

I’d not heard of Burt's bees before but having checked their web site discovered they were founded in the 1980 in the US. The company uses natural products where possible, supports initiatives to prevent the decline of essentials pollinators, and tries to generate no rubbish that goes to land fill during their production processes.

The hand cream is labelled as 99% natural, the non natural ingredient being the alcohol based preservative. The company say they can't find a natural alternative which is as effective. (Nature produces some very toxic compounds e.g. botox so being natural or man made is not a measure of how harmful some thing is anyway) The tube is sealed with foil you have to remove this before use. A great idea to keep the product fresh and show that its not been tampered with after it leaves the factory. The cream is pleasantly, scented and easily absorbed great for dry skin. Mmmmmmm... this smells almost good enough to eat., 16 Sept. 2015

From opening its superior quality packaging and sliding open the ribbon tagged drawer, the honey could be clearly smelled giving a welcoming taster of the rich and luscious contents.

* 50g Ultimate care hand cream for extremely dry skin

* 4.25g beeswax lip balm with a menthol and peppermint fragrance/flavour and vitamin E

* 4.25g honey lip balm with vitamin E

There are no doubts at all about the superior quality of these wholly natural and luxurious products which are a joy to use.

The hand cream for extremely dry skin is just that. I smoothed it on my dry, cracked and chapped hands which instantly felt soothed and moisturised with no greasiness. The cream contains glycerin and no liquid paraffin so there is no residual stickiness or greasy film.

As for the lip balms - smooth, soothing and luxurious again with a pure clean, fresh scent, no greasy film on the lips.

Better value than buying the products individually, 11 Sept. 2015

The first thing that you notice about this gift set is the high quality packaging, making it ideal as a gift. It comes in a box with a see through section that fits inside another just like a drawer, with a small piece of ribbon that you pull to open it up. It is designed for Christmas in mind but the decoration is subtle and tasteful. Inside there are two lip balms- Honey and Beeswax ( 4.25g) and Vitamin E with Peppermint ( 4.25g ) , both keep your lips smooth and nourished without being at all greasy or oily. The same goes for the Ultimate care hand cream ( 50g), it is easy to rub in and leaves your hands feeling silky smooth. The products contain plenty of natural ingredients to soothe the skin which is another plus point. It will be ideal for use all year but particularly as we move through Autumn and into Winter.
