Cetaphil sorted out my skin problems, 14 Jan. 2010

A couple of years ago I developed very dry, flaky skin and painful little red bumps around the bottom of my nose. In addition to that I also started to have breakouts on my chin and next to my nose. Not great for someone who had just turned 40 and never had any particular skin problems. I was not sure wether to buy products for dry, sensitive skin or for oily acne-prone skin or both. I tried countless creams, cleansers and lotions, nothing helped and my bathroom started to look like a chemist shop.

An article in a magazine mentioned Cetaphil and I thought I'll give it a go. And am I glad I did. The painful, dry-but-spotty skin around my nose went back to normal within 10 days of applying Cetaphil. The breakouts also disappeared. I could not believe it. I was hopeful this lotion would be my new go-to as it got good reviews. But I was very disappointed. It is very greasy, makes my skin feel sticky and looks very shiny, for hours after application. It was pretty much a waste of my money. The only time I use it now is just before bed to hydrate my face (it does hydrate well) but I use another lotion before going to work in the morning. I've just purchased CeraVe Moisturizing Cream which I've read doesn't feel greasy and doesn't leave skin shiny as other people have noticed with Cetaphil.

This is a great new product.

Firstly it really doesn't have any smell, which is important to me as I reach badly to most perfumed products.

Secondly it really does soften skin.

As well as my own skin I have tried it out on a male friend who has what I can only call scaly very dry skin. He was amazed. It really did the trick His skin feels soft and stays that way for hours.

I tried just putting it on one arm and retesting hours later to see if I could tell the difference, and I could.

Both my friend and i are a bit older and our skin is drying out with age, which doesn't feel good at all.

I try out all kinds of skin butters, lotions etc though my friend has never used anything before.

I find using some kind of moisturiser is better than none but none have a long lasting effect, i.e. not a whole day long.

We are so impressed with this cream that we both want to continue using it.

As the manufacturers state it will hold moisture in the skin it...
