Great facial oil, 15 Jan. 2015

I really like this facial oil. I have fairly young sensitive skin and am hormonal acne-prone, but also get some dry skin in winter around my eyes and mouth. I sometimes get some oiliness on my t-zone.

This oil smells AMAZING, but not too overpowering - I tend to apply it before bed and it doesn't bother me.

It doesn't absorb notably fast, and if you put it on and get into bed with your face against the pillow it will most likely smear off, but I usually apply it as I'm starting to get ready for bed after I've washed my face and it will be absorbed by the time I'm ready to go to bed.

If I have the first signs of a dry skin attack, applying this overnight will make it disappear by morning, but if I let the dryness get worse it does take 2-3 nights of applying this before it's completely gone.

Fragrant essential oils can admittedly smell nice, their aroma can even be uplifting, but there is now a lot of dermatological research out there telling us that fragrant ingredients/oils/extracts are not good news for the skin, because they contain volatile compounds.

This oil supposedly for Combination Skins contains rosemary, geranium, and clary oils, all of which are proven to be irritating to the skin and have no soothing or re-balancing benefit for combination or oily skin. In addition, no ingredients here can tighten pores.

This also contains hazelnut oil, meaning it may not be suitable for people with a nut allergy. I had a bad reaction to fragrant essential oils, which caused me to research their benefits and risks. I would encourage others to do the same.
