I avoid Sodium Laurel Sulphate, and I go natural with my skincare when possible - head to toe. My favoured brand of face wash, for comparison is Clarin's Shea Butter face wash (for dry/sensitive skin) - and I have tried a bunch of natural alternatives now. It's very difficult to find a good face was for my dry skin, that doesn't dry it out further. This one caught my eye because it is described as a 'gentle, light-lathering cleanser removes impurities without stripping the skin, leaving the skin perfectly hydrated and beautifully refreshed'. I agree -this is gentle - I felt I needed two washes with it to remove my sunscreen and makeup, so I think this may be best for those who wear a bit less slap than me, men, or as a morning face wash. Having suffered from acne prone skin all my life and just about managing breakouts in adult life, I now know I have to be extra careful with my selection of products before using them on my face. I tend to find natural ingredients without harsh preservatives help with my types of acne, which tends to result from inflammation of the skin. When I stumbled across the Instanatural Oil facial cleanser I weas extremely intrigued. I had heard on numerous skin forum of the benefit of cleansing with oil, especially, if you have oil or combination skin like myself.
The logic behind oil cleansing, is that you allow the oil to sit on the skin for a few minutes, the oil will break down the greasy sebum which is blocking the pores. You then either use a flannel dipped in warm water to remove and cleanse away this sebum or in a steamy shower as I like to do.
