ClearZal BAC was the first Over-The-Counter "fungal nail treatment" solution, launched in 2005. The active ingredient, Benzalkonium Chloride, is widely used for it's antimicrobial properties. It kills 99.9% of bacteria, fungus and viruses making BAC the perfect solution for nail problems. Contains Aloe Vera for it's moisturising properties, unlike other harsh lacquers containing alcohol. Infected nails will need to grow out fully, with healthy new nail growth protected by continued use. Perseverance and strict adherence to the treatment timeframe are necessary in order to maximise your chances of success. To use: Twist the cap a half turn, then turn the bottle upside down and apply a small amount of solution all around the nail. The solution will go around the edge of the nail to get underneath and sanitise the infected nail bed. This solution will NOT penetrate the nail (no proof that any can). Close the cap by reversing the twist. BAC includes a premium glass nail file to debride the nail if it has grown thicker. Each time the file is used it must be cleansed with the BAC solution to avoid contaminating the nail next time you use it. A toenail takes 12-18 months to regrow fully, a fingernail takes 6-8 months. Once the nail regrows, you can look for a lower concentrate solution to maintain your new healthy nails. Suitable maintenance or additional products can enhance the treatment, such as ClearZal Foot Sanitiser which can be used to combat Athlete's Foot, will sanitise and cleanse feet, socks and shoes reducing bacteria and chances of reinfection through cross-contamination. ClearZal BAC can be used on multiple nails at the same time, and works by going around and underneath the nail, allowing false nails or nail varnish to be worn during the treatment phase.
