I can only really compare it to other hair gels or the ECO Olive Oil.

Surprisingly this version of the ECO Styler gel had a much looser consistency than the olive oil, it was almost pudding-like. The smell is quite faint so if you don't like it, it's not very noticeable once it has dried on your hair. Unlike other hair gels, this one made my hair shiny which was a pleasant bonus since my hair is not naturally shiny although I am having some issues with it too. When it goes on your hair it appears very wet while it is drying which initially gave me the impression that it would dry sticky but it didn't, it dried rock hard! My curls were so clumped together that I had to wash my hair in order to separate them, my hair didn't lay in natural position, it appears stiff. The ECO Olive Oil however dries defining curls but not in a crunchy fashion. And as many of you will know, ECO Styler products are disastrous when used with other products as they dry gritty and white so I...

The perfect hair gel for me, 25 Aug. 2012

This is a fabulous gel. I don't use gel a lot but in the past when I have, it always seem to dry my hair out, make my hair crispy and/ or leave a White residue. This gel on the other hand works well with my hair. It does not leave it dry and crispy and leaves minimum residue. It is not greasy and has a good hold for my type 4b natural Afro hair. It also smells lovely. Fresh rather than sweet and sticky. You can also buy the olive oil version which I have not tried yet but I will be buying that one next.

I slightly prefer this to the Olive oil one, as it doesn't dry my hair out as much.I've given it 4 stars because it does a good job of defining my curls and keeping them there, and it's cheap. As long as you use a leave-in conditioner, and a little oil of choice, it should do the trick for you too.It can still dry quite hard; especially if you use too much, but sleeping on it (under a satin wrap/scarf) will sort that out, and by morning it should be fine.Once I've dried my 'wash and go' hair, I can get away with leaving it for up to 7 days before needing to do my hair again (if need's be!)I don't like to use this every week, but it's worth having on standby since you can obviously use it to slick down unruly hair too, and you don't need to worry about using loads, because it's affordable to replace.
