I have watched a few YouTube tutorials where nail art is conducted over one of these silicone mats and I decided I wanted one for myself. This mat is around A3 in size and has template sized areas to work out nail designs. Due to the nature of the material, the dried nail art can be painted over with clear and lightly prised off the mat with tweezers or an orange stick before placement on the nail.
This nail art mat is particularly good for stampers that struggle with direct stamping on to the nail. It's great when it goes well but frustrating when it is wonky or badly stamped so this nail art mat cuts out the mystery of "will it work" to "I can clearly see it is working".
Another benefit of the mat is that it protects your work surface from nail polish and remover stains. This is a very good surface to work on as it is lightly sticky it means things don't move either so you can work from a steady base.
