Face washing made easy, 13 July 2016

I don't about anyone else but I personally don't enjoy washing my face and find it a cumbersome and tedious process involving various hurdles - wet sleeves, soggy hair, damp clothes...not very nice! But I have to say that my routine has been made a lot more enjoyable after trying out the konjac sponge and now I don't have to splash water everywhere.

Upon receiving the sponge, it looked like a shrivelled, hard, porous rock and felt very lightweight. After soaking for about 2 minutes in warm water the sponge grew in size and became soft and silky to the touch.

I have been using the sponge for just over a month and I like to use the sponge without cleanser in the mornings as I don't want to strip my already dry skin and find the naturally cleansing properties of the sponge sufficient for a quick morning refresh. I soak the sponge until soft and squeeze out the excess water, then using circular motions massage it across my face and eyelids then pat my face dry without rinsing...

The sponges arrived beautifully boxed in a white cardboard box with a coloured stripe to indicate the type of sponge. The packaging is ideal if you are looking to give this item as a gift.Inside is one of three sponges and a small manual. The sponges are domed shaped and quite small but perfectly serviceable given that that are designed for use on your face. All three sponges are gentle on your face and suitable for daily use. They are also supposed to have an exfoliating effect and remove toxins, but I am not sure how to verify this.In terms of effectiveness I have found the sponges to be perfect for my night time cleansing routine. They are very soft and feel quite luxurious. They a great size for around your eyes and nose and are gentle enough for your eyelids. Further, I have had no reaction to the sponges and I have quite sensitive skin.Please note I received a complimentary item in order to write this review.

Exfoliation made easy and comfortable, 22 April 2016

I received a sample at no cost for personal evaluation. Since discovering Konjac sponges, I have scaled down my use of exfoliating gels to maybe twice a month. Considering that many less-than-natural ingredients are often found in face peeling formulations, this can only be a good thing. These sponges do the same thing (i.e. remove the topmost layer of dead cells from the surface of the skin) but much more gently and can be used every day.

Kojac sponges are hard when dry, and need to be soaked in warm water to bring them to a soft and elastic state. You can then rub the sponge in circular motions all over your face, or use it to increase the action of a good gel cleanser before rinsing your face with warm water. That is my preference and my skin feels both clean and soft afterwards. They can be disinfected by boiling or microwaving and, since they are made of vegetable fibre, can be discarded with your biodegradables (compost bin) when they start to break apart...
