Great soap, really good... The bowl? Not so great., 25 Mar. 2015

Right, let's get the gripe out of the way first... The bowl it comes in is stupidly flimsy. Know it can be argued that this is a cheap product, but honestly... I was only taking the lid off and crunch! The lid just broke with one light twist.

So, as it is a traditional glycerin based soap... It can be melted down and poured into any container you like. Which, is strangely a real bonus as many people who like the traditional shave would like to fill their favourite scuttle with some nice soap. Which of course, you can do when it's melted.

Now onto the soap - this is really a wonderfully vintage soap, with that smell that is so evocative of barbers shops of days gone by. It's not overbearing in scent, but it is a distinct smell that I found doesn't outstay it's fond welcome.

In use, the soap is very, very easy to get a good lather with. When using a fairly wet brush, it gets a nice smooth luxurious lather. This goes on well and provides ample lubrication for your shave...

One of the best shaving soaps that you can buy, 17 Aug. 2014

For those of us who prefer the old fashioned method of shaving, in other words using soap and water, you need a shaving soap that gives you a nice rich lather. I have read that Proraso makes the best shaving cream, but I think that this one is pretty damn good. A must for any bloke who wet shaves.

Regardless of price, this is the best shaving soap I have ever used, and all for such a great price - it is a true bargain. It lathers easily to a nice consistency, and gives an impeccably smooth shave (with a Gillette Fusion in my case).Much better than some soaps costing substantially more. Do your face and finances a favour' and buy one - "because you're worth it"!
