I often use Garnier and have tried the face wash from the Garnier Pure range before, but didn't get along with it particularly well. However, since I suffer from really greasy skin particularly in the "T" zone I thought that I'd give this a try.
This anti-shine and anti-blemish moisturiser in the Pure range from Garnier feels very light and produces a slightly cold sensation upon application - a little like applying something mildly astringent. It does mattify the skin quite well upon application and it did also seem to help to reduce oil production meaning that my face was less shiny by lunch than if using a regular moisturiser. After using once I decided to use it just on my nose and forehead going forward, as I didn't feel that it was particularly moisturising and the rest of my face needs somewhat more moisturising than I felt this product delivered. Garnier Pure Matte Control does the job it's intended to do - I don't have particularly oily skin but I do have skin that's shiny due to tight/smooth skin on my nose and forehead, most matte control products don't work for me as they only work by controlling oil, this product however also mattifies so straight away it's helping prevent shine and through the day when my skin may get a little oily it helps to keep that under control too.
It does help with the appearance of pores but not as much as I'd like, I've attempted to use my usual silicone-based primers over the top of this product but it hasn't worked out well as the primers seem to have problems adhering to the skin when this product is used. For day-to-day this isn't a huge problem, and as I spend most of my time in the gym anyway this product does more than enough to keep me looking good.
