Make up remover, 4 April 2013

This is overall a good product, it got rid of all my make up well (although I on't wear waterproof mascara, so I wouldn't know if it takes it off). However, it does make the skin quite oily, so i did have to wipe down my face with a towel/cotton pad afterwards. If it got into my eyes it wouldn't sting and it leaves my skin feeling soft. I have run of of it, so I am repurchasing; hence, I would recommend buying it :)

Better than Clinique!, 7 Sept. 2015

I regularly use Garnier Essentials cleanser and toner because they are cheap but effective. I can say the same for this 2-in-1 make-up remover. I tested it against my much more expensive (£15.75 on Amazon at the moment) Clinique Take The Day Off make-up remover by removing half my make-up with each product. Both make-up removers effectively removed all my make-up, including waterproof mascara. The Garnier make-up remover took slightly longer than the Clinique equivalent, but made up for this by leaving my face less oily and feeling smoother and less tight. I've taken a star off my rating as I don't think the '2-in-1' claims really hold true; while not as oily as Clinique, this remover still left my face feeling a bit greasy and I would want to use a proper cleanser afterwards, especially as I have combination skin. But as a waterproof make-up remover, this product is both effective and very competitively priced.

This make-up remover does a really good job at removing both face make-up (such as long stay foundation) and eye make up, although I haven't tried it with waterproof eye make up. It doesn't leave my eyes tingling as other eye make up remover do, which is the reason I normally avoid eye make up removers and use olive oil instead.After using it I still use my skin cleanser - I suppose this depends on your skin type but I wouldn't want to leave this product on my skin without washing it off first. Whilst it's good that it's not drying, it does feel like there's residue left on your skin, like a thin film.You need to shake the product well before using it though, and that's the problem for me - if I need to pour a bit more onto the cotton wool pad, I forget to shake it, so only one part of the product comes out. But if you can remember to follow simple instructions, this product works.
