Geo F Trumper's Extracts of Limes skin food is a specially formulated light, non oily, glycerine based product that can be used before or after the shave. When used as a pre shave, Trumper's skin food softens the bristles, adding nourishment to protect the skin and allows the razor to glide giving a comfortable shave. Using a small amount of skin food after a shave seals the skin while also soothing, nourishing and moisturising the newly shaved skin. Trumper's Extract of Limes scent is an infusion of the tangy sharpness of freshly squeezed tropical limes with vibrant citrus flashes - very exhilarating!

A refreshing scent of Limes Extract. Basically, an old school barber shop smell, the way I recall my father used to smell back when I was a wee lad. I use it with TOBS Lemon & Lime shaving cream, Victorian Limes aftershave and Truefitt & Hill West Indian Limes Cologne. All products are complimenting each other nicely, excellent for an early morning shave in the summer, invigorating and really wakes you up! (I only use it in my post-shave treatment, so I will relay my thoughts to you from this perspective below).

So what is this product? Seems alot of gents get confused by this. An aftershave? No. A moisturizer? No. I would describe this as a "moisture locker" to be used immediately after your shave, to "lock" the much needed moisture and goodness back into the skin so that the skin will be calm and irritation free, so you can continue with the after shaving process etc. The Coral bottle states that this product is a "soothing preparation for after shaving". I had promised myself a bottle of skin food for a while now ,was going to go for the coral but had a change of mind and went for the lime ,this small bottle is amazing a real zingy but not over powering aroma and leaves the skin fresh and non greasy ,people have commented on how good a shave I seem to get lately ,the skin food is a small but important part of my shaving regime ,here`s a short list

1.Wet face with warm water

2.Place hot and wet Terry towel over face twice for about a minute at a time

3.Apply Mitchell`s wool fat soap with a quality badger hair brush(Simpsons at the moment).

4.Merkur 43c DE razor with the obligatory feather blade.

5.Wash face in cold water.

6.Dab dry only....don`t rub

7.Apply skin food with a touch of water on the face also to lock in moisture/sometimes apply Bulldog moisturiser also ,seems great for an everyday product.....Just my little process for a great shave...

I use the skin food also for a freshen up...

Yes, it does sound expensive for one product, but this last a very long time. You certainly get your moneys worth.Arrived very quickly during a time when other online orders seemed to take an eternity due to christmas and severe weather. The product itself is wonderful. One only needs to use a small amount, and it soothes the skin after a close shave, moisturising and maing one look good, and feel sensational. The scent of lime caresses the senses and is a real pick-me-up, especially on these cold dark damp mornings. It shall be even more devine in summer.Highly recommend you treat yourself to this product. Why ? Because you're worth it !I use mine after a wet shave with Taylors of Bond Street Lime & lemon Shaving cream.The coral skin food is also a wonderful product. Compliments Taylors of old Bond Streets rose shaving cream.
