Geo F Trumper's Extract of Limes skin food is a specially formulated light, non oily, glycerine based product that can be used before or after the shave. When used as a pre shave, Trumper's skin food softens the bristles, adding nourishment to protect the skin and allows the razor to glide giving a comfortable shave. Using a small amount of skin food after a shave seals the skin while also soothing, nourishing and moisturising the newly shaved skin. Trumper's Extract of Limes scent is an infusion of the tangy sharpness of freshly squeezed tropical limes with vibrant citrus flashes - very exhilarating!

I have only been wet shaving with a double edged safety razor for about 10 months and have, until now, been using Proraso Pre- and Post-shave cream, but fancied a change.
Every time I have used this Skin Food as a pre-shave lotion the razor has glided effortlessly over my skin and given we a wonderfully close shave. It's a marked improvement from the shaves I had using the Proraso cream and, though I was perfectly happy with the product at the time, I don't think I'd go back to it now. I use this fairly liberally in pre-shave and leave it to soak in for a minute or so. This really softens the stubble (which I often leave for a little longer than I should!)
As a post-shave balm I'd recommend using this incredibly sparingly as it's a very wet product and you need very little. The smell is lovely and fresh, but doesn't last and in my opinion isn't strong enough. This relatively wimpy aroma would by my own criticism of the product, although I find the...
