With more blades than Edward Scissorhands, the Gillette Fusion razor does give me a smooth, clean shave. I have to admit that I only shave about twice a week - three times if I want to impress the boss (or Mrs Crookedmouth) - so this razor head has a fairly punishing routine dealing with several days worth of growth. It performs well enough. I have still to be convinced that the more blades a razor sports the better the shave but happy to admit that this is much smoother than a single or double blade razor. That said, I do still use an old, disposable two-blade to tidy up side burns - with a smaller blade head it's much more precise than a 5 bladed head.
Allegedly the Flexball thing is supposed to make this razor more maneouvrable than a "normal" razor that only hinges in one direction. The Flexball allows the head to pivot in two axes but, to be honest, it makes NO difference to my shave at all. I'm pretty sure that it's just a gimmick, introduced because the...

I'm upgrading from the previous Fusion ProGlide model (with no roller ball). I noticed a VERY distinct difference right away compared to the old model so it takes some getting used to. It is a very different feel on your skin. I felt the precision of the shave had stepped up so much you could barely feel it on your skin and thus wasn't completely sure how much pressure to use. My brother tried one at the same time and we found the first few uses were quite sore compared to old models.
Now I've been using it for a good two weeks I can't say it gives a much better shave than its predecessor. I am very clean shaven and I still have to go over my face just as many times as the old model. On closer inspection of the blades between the two models they look completely the same, so it is just a matter of preference whether you enjoy the feel of the roller blade technology or not.
This one is definitely down to preference but worth a try if you need a new razor. I...

Firstly, if you are perfectly happy with your existing razor then I would say stick with it, why bother changing something that is adequate for your needs? I wanted to try this razor out though, to see if it was as good as the manufacturers claim it to be. I didn’t like the standard Fusion ProGlide as I found it not as good as other manual razors on the market, and I will admit I was expecting to be underwhelmed by this new design with so called flexball technology.
So, I have gone a few days without a shave to see if this really works, after all my bristles were strong and thick and it is easy to check out how good a razor is going to work in such a condition, and much easier to see where they may have missed. You can wobble the razor head about with your fingers and see that the flexball moves, but it is a different thing on your face, where it moves according to the conditions of your face. I will admit that I thought there would be no way of telling if the...
