Habit Rouge Eau de Cologne by Guerlain is an Oriental Woody fragrance for men launched in 1965. It was created by Jean-Paul Guerlain. The top notes are orange, basil, bergamot, pallisander, rosewood, lemon, lime, and tangerine. The middle notes are carnation, sandalwood, patchouli, cinnamon, jasmine, white cedar extract, and rose. While the base notes are labdanum, amber, benzoin, leather, oak moss, and vanilla. Habit Rouge comes from an era of stronger fragrances, fragrances that had projection. This is a wonderful citrusy, aromatic, floral, woodsy fragrance with notes of vanilla and patchouli not to mention the benzoin/incense. As it dries down it’s mysterious, dark and Oriental. A beautiful and long lasting fragrance with elaborate notes of such refined elegance and sophistication. Love it.
