This shaving soap is a good alternative to shaving cream. I like the use of soaps, containing healthy oils for your face and beard and scented very well. It feels like a more professional shave.

How to use

Simply run your shaving brush under some hot water and apply the soap to the water and brush. Alternatively, apply directly onto hot wet skin. Leave to soak in for a while and then run your shave.

Performance

This leaves your skin feeling nice and silky for that close shave. Not only that but your skin feels allot healthier using this product rather than standard shaving cream. Nicely moisturises and softens the skin for a deep shave.

Wonderful scent, but lather quality isn't great., 10 Jun. 2016

I've used this shaving soap twice now and although it smells amazing, I don't think I'll be using it very often, at least on its own. I'll explain my process of lathering up below to give some context. For reference, I'm using an Edwin Jagger Super Badger Hair brush in medium size, and a porcelain lathering bowl. The soap is a puck/refill, so you'll need to find a container to put it in. I used a glass ramekin that I stole from our kitchen cupboard.

1) Soak the brush in warm water for several minutes

2) Drop about a teaspoon of warm water onto the soap and leave it to soften the puck for a minute.

3) Pour the water from the top of the soap into the lathering bowl (there will only be a few drops as the soap will have soaked some up).

4) Shake the water out of the brush, so the only water that is left in it is actually soaked into the hairs.

5) Load the brush with soap - both the tips and the sides.

6) Whip up a lather in the bowl...

Delighted with shaving soap & says he would definitely purchase more when this block has been used up, so a good recommendation, 6 Jun. 2016

Despite having a number of electric shavers, my partner still prefers to use a wet shave so was delighted with this Henry Cavendish shaving soap which came wrapped and boxed. The soap was a perfect fit for his shaving bowl; if you haven't got a bowl it does say the soap can be rubbed directly onto the skin after a shower. My partner used the soap with his shaving brush and said it lathered up really well, it has a light sensual fragrance was from the essential oils plus the Shea butter and Coconut oil are great moisturisers. He has used the soap a couple of times and the block still seems to be the same size so it is obviously long lasting; he does sometimes get some redness from shaving but this cream cause no irritation and left his skin feeling lovely and soft.

He is delighted with this shaving soap and says he would definitely purchase more when this block has been used up, so a good recommendation.
