Worked for me!, 22 Oct. 2014

Absolutely works. I purchases the Me Elos system from Bed Bath & Beyond a couple of months ago, hoping to solve my awful bikini area issues. I have dark, coarse hair on medium skin color (I'm light but tan easily). My skin is SUPER sensitive to shaving, waxing, creams, and ever hair removal option I've tried has failed me. I didn't want to go to laser hair removal yet because of the cost & having to go to the Dr every few weeks. Elos gives me the option to stay home.

I started using it on my right leg only so I could track the results. After one use I noticed less hair growth but thought maybe I was just imagining it. Now, it's about 7 weeks/7 treatments later & my right leg is about 95% completely hair free. I started on my bikini line 3 weeks ago & am noticing a big difference. My hair is growing back thinner, slower, and is gone in some patchy areas. I also started on my under arms last week.

I will say this- it is time consuming & you may need more than the advised...

Elos vs IPL, 30 Oct. 2012
Never heard of this brand but thought I'd try and compare it to the other brands available. Having previously owned a Philips lumea, I was interested to see how this item compared. In terms of effectiveness I would say its slightly better, using elos technology rather than IPL. it seems better at removing hairs and a lot quicker. The downside appears to be the need to replace the cartridges used by this system. Which one you choose would come down to how much money you have available to spend on hair removal. Obviously how many cartridges you go through depends on how often you use it, but I noticed the cartridges ran out quicker than anticipated. This item feels well made and feels durable, is easy to use and effective ... But would work out more expensive in the long run. If that's ok with you, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

Caught in a flash..., 3 Dec. 2012

First thing to mention about the Me-My-Elos are the cartridges, which can represent a significant ongoing cost - the standard cartridges (there's one included in this pack) last for 5,400 flashes. On the medium brightness setting the cartridge flashes approximately once per second and that means they're good for around 90 minutes of continual use on that setting. There are also newer `Quartz' cartridges available and they last for 100,000 flashes before needing replaced but you'd have to buy one separately after buying this unit - or go for the

version which comes complete with a Quartz cartridge. Note that the Quartz cartridges for this machine are different to the cartridges used in the 'Plus' unit and unfortunately they don't seem to be available from Amazon at the moment - you can get them from Boots...
