Fabulous conditioning product for Nubian and/or kinky curly tresses, 5 Sept. 2017

I love this product - it's fabulous for my mid-length Nubian hair (lol). For me it was a choice between a steamer, microwave conditioning cap, or this electric steamer bonnet.

My reasons for choosing this product were many, and included mental images of my sister's expensive steamer taped up with anything that sticks in order to keep the bottle attached to it, to hot water running down my cheeks and the back of my neck giving that scalding feeling both during and after a "good steam". After reading some reviews on the microwave conditioning cap, which at first sounded really cool, I decided to listen to my inner reservations which were getting quite loud by the time I read about the unfortunate consumers whose caps...

So far, so good. After reading a review about the safety I decided to steam my hair in 10 minute segments to check it was working okay and not causing any issues to my hair. Better than the old steam caps which used to have a single metal plate at the top. This one has even rods circling round the whole inside with a plastic protective cap zipped in and a pull cord to tighten around the head so everywhere gets heat eventually. Then you have a plastic elasticated cap which luckily fit me well. But my head is quite peanut shaped!

I checked my hair and added a bit more conditioner and spritzed a little water to make sure it stayed 80% dry after each 10 mins. Did max 30 mins.

Afterwards hair was more elastic so a good sign (as didn't prepoo with my Elasticizer Extreme) and a little more manageable to comb without using my detangler. Added leave-in at the end and plaited hair easily with, I think, less breakage then usual but it's early days. Will know after a few...

Hair steamer, 23 Sept. 2017

Just used this this morning it's really good its like been at the hair dressers using a professional one. My hair felt great I used a deep conditioner and then put on the steam cap that comes with it. I then left it on for 15 minutes however instructions on amazon say 10. Then plugged it in. ( it comes with a UK one too) there's two settings you can use high and low I used the high setting. There's also an off and on setting. Really easy to use. My hair felt soft and moisturised. I have relaxed hair which I also dye so defo would recommend this product.
