Hydrea Professional FSC* Beechwood Body Brush with Natural Bristles (Medium Strength) is available in Firmers & Shapers
Hydrea's Professional Body Brush features medium-strength, curved cut natural bristles, making this brush the ideal choice for those new to skin brushing. The curved cut of the medium-strength bristles protect sensitive skin. It's ergonomic design makes it easy to use, whilst the strap holds the brush firmly in place in your hand. The Brush uses FSC* certified Beechwood. This brush is for dry skin brushing and is not designed for use in the bath/shower. Please check out beautifully organic's range of bath/shower brushes for this purpose. We sell a Walnut Professional Body Brush with Medium Bristles, which is suitable for use in the bath or shower as walnut wood is naturally water resistant. Size: 13 cm x 7.5 cm Please note that this product is not suitable for vegans, as the natural bristles are made from hogs' hair, a natural byproduct. Dry skin brushing is the simplest way to improve your energy and wellbeing, and is essential for the removal of toxins by encouraging lymphatic drainage. Regular brushing can help prevent the build-up of cellulite and exfoliate away dead skin cells, leaving skin soft and glowing. Dry skin brushing is best carried out before a bath or shower. Start at the soles of your feet, brush in long strokes up your legs, then concentrate on brushing your hands and up your arms. When brushing your chest and upper back, focus the strokes towards your heart. Brush in circular motions over the abdomen. Do not use on sensitive areas such as face, or on broken skin. *FSC is the Forest Stewardship Council which promotes responsible forest management, consumption and production

I've written articles on body brushing for other websites. It's quite difficult to find sturdy brushes that are secure in the hand, strong & dense enough to make a difference, and flexible enough not to scratch the skin. This is it. If you plan to dry brush before your shower, I don't think you'll find a better brush.
Summary of technique:
Start with your feet (sit down if balance is a problem.) Brush along the soles of the feet, very firmly so it doesn't tickle, from toes to the backs of your heels. Then the tops of feet, toes to ankles and up along the fronts of your shins.
Once the feet are done, brush the legs - in the longest strokes you can manage - from ankles to tops of thighs. Depending on your agility, you may need to do shins first, then knees to hips. Do your legs as four sides: front; right; back; left. If you have cellulite on your thighs, pay special attention to those areas working in circular/oval shapes. Put more pressure on the upward strokes...
