I wont lie...it is painful..esp round the eyes. Its gross....when you gently press, you can hear the 'crunch crunch' sound of the titanium needles piercing into the skin. Yes its gross and freaky and interesting!
you do around 10 to 15 stamps in one area. It does make tiny holes in the skin and yes it makes the skin bleed. This is normal.
also, try not to drag the stamp...keep it as upright as possible...or what happens is when you stamp and lift off, the skin is lifted with a needle. They are VERY VERY sharp.

Having only recently discovered the Derma Stamp and read many glowing reports about its effects on acne scarring I decided I had to give it a go. Whilst a little dubious about stabbing my face repeatedly causing it to bleed, I went ahead anyway as I am desperate for clear, scar free skin after 12 months of Roaccutane. I tried the 1.5 mm stamp 4 nights ago making sure to numb my face beforehand and apply Skinapeel serum afterwards. I can genuinely say that I see a small improvement in my deepest ice pick scar. I am giving this product three stars because the needles are not sharp enough to properly penetrate the skin - even with a lot of force. I tried this yesterday and was dissapointed with how difficult it was to get the needles into my skin - if they were sharper it would be less painful and more effective because the needles need to penetrate the skin and draw blood to effectively stimulate collagen.
I have had a professional course of dermastamp in the past 18 months, and so I am aware of how a well-designed dermastamp works. And the dermastamp they used worked better - it slid into the skin with less pressure and got deeper.
