A 100% natural, dead sea mud mask which is soothing to the skin and great way to detox and purify the skin. It comes in good .5 kg plastic container with screw top lid.

It's key ingredients that makes it natural include mud sourced from the Dead Sea, organic aloe vera juice, organic shea butter, organic jojoba oil, and organic calendula oil. The mudmask is free of silicones and any other artificial additives. These ingredients individually are great and their combination is like awesome.

The mud mask is dark greyish or shall I say muddy color, the great thing about it is, its very smooth and has no odour. Once applied to the skin, it gives a very cold feel and makes your skin feel relaxed. You need to leave it cool for around 5-10 minutes or as you are comfortable with, as it dry up, it changes the color to more like ash. Wash it with luke warm runny water and enjoy the radiant skin.

Mud masks have been around for years now, though it's never been anything that I've tried before. I never understood how it could be beneficial to the skin. Isn't it basically just wet dirt? But after doing a bit of research, I found out that mud contains a high quantity of nutritional elements which nourish the skin. Most mud masks use mud or clay specifically mined from areas that have few, if any, contaminants. That's why they're generally not considered harmful or pore-clogging. It's a popular belief that mud masks may actually remove dirt and oil from your pores, though there aren't any scientific studies to back that up yet. Some of the benefits from using mud masks are:

1. Exfoliation. Mud is naturally going to dry out once applied to your face and the scrubbing technique helps slough off dead skin cells.

2. Moisturise. Mud is toted as a deep moisturiser, getting deep into pores and providing just enough moisture...

I really was excited to use this product from Instanatural as I had read reviews about how it can reduce your pores. As a blogger I love trying out beauty products that I haven't tried before. So this weekend I tested it out. I followed the instructions and applied a thin layer to my face, avoiding my eye and mouth areas. It was cool on my skin and was a smooth application. It says to leave on for 10-15 mins, and as the minutes go by the soft mud turns to a hard texture as it dries. I really liked the process but before the mask could dry 100% it started to tingle and get a bit uncomfortable, I would say 12 minutes in. I took it off using warm water and cotton pads, and unfortunately my skin had a minor reaction to the mask, leaving my skin quite red where I had applied it, especially on my forehead. It definitely did leave my skin feeling tighter and very smooth, but I think that people with sensitive skin should be wary and maybe get a sample sent so you can do a patch test before...
