A little put off by the smell, 17 Mar. 2016

I have to admit when I ordered this I had no idea what a "neem" was, but on research it's apparently a plant native to the Indian subcontinent used, amongst other things, in traditional medicine. I have been trying a few different oils recently and am a fan of InstaNatural products but wow I have to say this oil really smells. I don't know how hardly anyone else has mentioned it. It is so strong I smelt it as soon as I opened the bottle. It's a really rich smell which I couldn't quite place, I was thinking Bovril but then my research suggested it smells like 'peanut and garlic' and I think that's pretty accurate.

The neem oil comes in a nice dark glass bottle and is suggested for use on face, hair, skin and nails. It doesn't come with a dropper or pump which is a little annoying as some of the other oils I have tried have done and it makes it so much easier to use. ONE OIL MANY BENEFITS..., 20 Mar. 2016

Neem is a tree. The bark, leaves, and seeds are used to make medicine. Less frequently, the root, flower, and fruit are also used. Neem oil is extracted from the seeds and fruits of the neem tree, a large-sized evergreen tree, which is known in the Indian sub-continent since antiquities. Neem has been used to treat various skin and scalp conditions, reduce swelling and inflammation, get rid of parasites, and help with many other illness. Neem contains more than 35 biologically active ingredients and has many medicinal properties.

This oil comes in a dark glass bottle and can be easily opened with a cap which is a little drawback as it creates mess which is different with other essential oil which comes with a dropper or pump and makes it so easy and simple to apply without creating any mess.. The smell of this oil is quiet strong which you can notice as and when you open the bottle and remains after long time once applied, its quiet thick in consistency.

Smell makes me nauseous and had to stop using, 21 Mar. 2016

Update - unfortunately I have had to stop using it as the smell has started to make me feel very nauseous. Whatever I do I cannot get the smell off my hands and have even showered twice in the space of two hours to try and get rid of it. I have realised what the smell is like - very similar to your hands after having chopped onions and the smell is very hard to get off. I do not not think this a fault of the product or supplier. I have used toner with neem before from a different brand and had no problems (it smelt lovely) - but I did not sufficiently research pure neem oil before I bought it. If I had, I would have known that pure neem oil does smell like this and that some people (not all) really don't get on with it. I slapped alot more oil on today than previously which is what must have heightened the unpleasant effect...
