JAPONESQUE Velvet Touch Eye Shadow Palette is my favourite palette, to me this is close to perfection.
The palette comes boxed with instructions on the back of the box, the palette itself is card rather than plastic but it's good quality card and so a nice solid clean palette with embossed writing that looks good quality, with a magnetic lid it does stay closed. I'd have maybe liked a mirror in the lid, some would also argue that an applicator brush included would be an advantage in a palette but often those brushes are poor quality so I don't mind that one isn't included here. You do get a reasonable amount of product in this eight eye-shadow palette set too.
The colours in this set are perfectly complimentary, although all neutral brown shades there's a strong difference between the eight different shadows that means there are a lot of colour combinations and you can wear different shades on different areas to get different looks - the variation also helps...

Another sterling product from this recently discovered brand, there is something very satisfying about their products - the quality, the packaging, every aspect is really classy, I have been most impressed. This eye shadow palette was no exception, it really is a joy to hold in the hand. It comes in an attractive black card box which protects the actual black palette case itself. Most of the essential information, ingredients etc are on the card box, which means the actual palette is able to be quite minimal and sleek in appearance with no writing on it - very attractive indeed. The colours inside are an especially good selection, none of those awful light, glittzy pale greys and blues that hardly look good on anyone over 14 - instead these are sophisticated grown up colours that can be worn from early morning until late at night quite successfully. This is the first time I've used a Japonesque product, and I was impressed by the quality of this eye-shadow palette. The palette is housed in a black, matte box with a magnetic lid, making it easy to open and close. The individual eye-shadows are quite big, too, so I'm sure that this product will have some longevity. It's a shame that there is no mirror in the lid of the box, or an application brush, as these would make it handy to carry around in your handbag.
I was really pleased with the pigmentation of these, and they were very easy to apply. The colours go on smoothly and blend easily, perfect for when you need to get ready quickly! The neutral tones are great for a natural look and they also build well for a more dramatic effect, making them ideal for day-to-night application. I was also impressed with the staying power! Often, after a long, stressful day at work, I come home with my eye-shadow creased and uneven, but this stayed put! I didn't need to top it up to go...
