In trying to steer my family down the "zero waste" Route. I say zero in the loosest sense of the word, that being; I'm following the movement to lessen mine and my families environmental footprint, by expelling as much limited use and disposable plastics as possible (it's a start).
I saw a Jagen David razor being promoted by a few promoters of the zero waste lifestyle and thought it would be a good idea to buy one and a pack of Astra blades (£10 ish for 100 blades ) for the Husband. After he finished laughing at me saying his dad used to use razors like these in the 50's and 60's, he gave it a go (having his usual disposables in stock as back up).
His first thoughts were that the razor head was too bulky and found it difficult to use near the nose around the upper lip, but he managed really well with it and it seems to shave as close as his disposables. He's had it a week or so now and he's gotten used to it. I bought him a badger hair brush to use...
