Well, it does straighten hair and it does dry hair. Eventually. But I'm not particularly impressed. Here are my gripes: (1) I do have long hair, but still, after an hour of styling at the hottest temperature I would expect my hair to be dry. It's mostly damp. It would be much quicker to just blow dry and then straighten. (2) The on/off button is poorly designed and I accidentally caught it no fewer than 9 times during one styling session. Each time, I had to stop to turn the thing back on, then press the temperature button repeatedly to turn it back up to full again. (3) All the instructions were in German, including the safety instructions and warning stickers. I looked through the whole booklet - No English whatsoever. Surely this isn't legal? For anyone who does buy this (and doesn't speak German), you need to be aware that hot steam comes out of the little vents at the other side of the plates, so don't put your hand anywhere near that end.
