I love it! Application by foam is so much easier than the conventional way of home dying. No drips on the floor, anywhere. It was so easy to do although I had to leave mine on for the full 30 minutes to ensure good colour, but I like my hair to be a dramatic dark plum/purple so the timings weren't a worry to me.
I'm somewhat puzzled by the fellow reviewer who is a L2 hairdressing student, I'm unsure why they felt this colour could cover black. It wont.
The colour is absolutely lovely, the coverage is even. It's much easier to rinse out than conventional home dyes and it also doesn't take as long for the water to run clear. I like the fact that the conditioner supplied isn't in one of those tear packs that you can't get open for love nor money once you're in the shower, so you have to rip at it with your teeth and end up with a mouth full of conditioner. Aaaah a tube is so much nicer and there is also enough left over for another 1.5 conditionings.

I'd only tried dying my hair at home once before (it didn't take much- my hair is ridiculously temperamental), and decided to touch up my horrendously-faded salon purple with this, as it looks very purply on the box. The foam also looked like it would be a lot easier to use than the normal stuff, plus it was on offer in Superdrug and worked out cheaper than 2 of the Schwarzkopf dyes. In fact, that's one of the great things about this dye; even if you have super-long hair, you still only need one pack, so it works out at least the same as 2 packs of another dye.
I did a skin test just to be safe; it wasn't hard or time-consuming to do, and don't worry if you don't have a plastic bowl; I just used an old ceramic ramekin and it was fine. Anyway, the skin test was fine, so it was time to colour! :D
