I (like many others) was gutted when John Frieda dis-continued his beach blonde range some years ago, so imagine my delight to see this little beauty being advertised recently! I immediately ordered this from Amazon as John Friedas' beach blonde sea salt spray had been the best sea salt spray I'd ever used, never drying & always leaving perfect beachy silky soft waves. I was going to order several just in case of another dis-continuation further down the track, but as the bottle & the contents looked different (used to be a clear bottle & the contents were bi-phase - one layer floating upon the other which you shook to mix) I decided to just try the one first. The smell is the same, a heavenly coconut that screams of sunshine & beaches, but the contents are different. It is still ok, but unlike the original which clearly had some sort of oil in it (the floating bit that you had to mix in) this one does not, resulting in, after 3 uses, a very very drying effect on my hair leaving it...

This has a lovely smell and consistency but it didn't work for me. I attempted it on both wet and dry hair to no avail, there were no waves to speak of. I was also shocked at how dry and flyaway it made my hair, particularly as oiliness is something I usually battle. I welcome products that reduce this but it did so far too much, in fact it was so bad I actually looked to have split ends. So incredibly disappointed.

Gives perfect beach hair. Really great for creating curls. I prefer to use it on dry hair than damp as instructed. Smells gorgeous too
