We have been using these as a family on and off for several years and rate them very highly indeed. They are available in both the 100 bud and 200 bud sizes.
They are made from high quality material and consist of 2 pieces of cotton wool attached to a high quality plastic 'stick'. The cotton wool sections have unique absorbent and gentle properties that would be beneficial in the following uses:
They have been made mainly for cleaning between babies fingers, toes and around the eyes, nose or outer ear. They can also be used to apply cream to blemishes, to clean the ears / nose, for applying / removing make up and cleaning around the eyes and outer ears.
In use I found the sticks to be very strong and rigid whilst the cotton wool sections are soft, smooth and do not lose visible cotton particles from the buds very easily.

We rely on these cotton buds. We have tried others, including supermarket own-brands, but keep coming back to these.
The most common use for these is to clean wax out of ear canals but please be aware that this is not recommended. Wax is there for a reason - it provides protection from fungi, bacteria and water. If you remove it, you increase the chance of suffering from an outer ear infection. Worse still, you can poke your eardrum with it and perforate it. Repeated cleaning with cotton buds can also compact the earwax together causing hearing loss.
A relative used to suffer from repeated outer ear infections when on holiday, after swimming. It turned out to be because he was constantly removing earwax from his ears.
