Not for me after all..., 20 Sept. 2012

I started going grey in my early twenties and now, at over 40, I would say that approx 50-60% of my hair is white with the remainder an evenly spread dark brown. It therefore wasn't a difficult choice in going for the dark brown T45 option.

I still have a full head of hair and I didn't want that typical dyed hair look. It was a little scary after the first application as my hair just looked jet black. Once rinsed though, I was happy with the result and it was kind of what I'd hoped for, me but with slightly darker hair. So subtle in fact that none of my family commented and I felt a little younger looking.

After three or four weeks of daily washing, the white hairs, which had turned dark brown, began to slowly change to an unnatural yellowy shade. I bought more T45 and reapplied. Again I was happy with the result but my hair was noticeably darker so I had a haircut and this seemed to help. Within another few weeks the colour started to look strage again. A yellow...

Works perfectly, subtle and effective., 10 Sept. 2012

Having read other reviews about how 'subtle' this is I decided to use it for a while without telling my wife or anyone else for that matter. My hair short but greying around the sides/ ears. It is indeed a subtle change, it takes out some grey but leaves any hair that wasn't grey untouched. If you want to get rid of more grey, repeat every few days until it's how you want it. I used it over a few weeks until there was almost no grey left and no one had noticed it slowly disappearing. There is a lot in the tube, and unless you have loads of hair you will not use it all. It says in the instructions to discard any remaining after first use as it 'oxidises' and no longer works. I think this might be a ploy to sell more - I get at least 4-6 uses out of a tube over a period of say 6- 8 weeks and can't see any difference between first and last use. Brilliant product and amazing value if used sensibly!

In the package you receive a tube of colorant, a comb that screws onto the tube and a pair of plastic gloves. Don't use the comb as you'll waste colorant that travels along the inside to reach the comb's teeth. Use an old comb, spread the colorant along the teeth and comb through your hair. Do this all over and leave for 5 minutes before rinsing off. The instructions tell you to discard what's left in the tube as it spoils once the air gets to it. Bearing this in mind I quickly screwed the top back on after use. It lasted another 2 sessions!! When your hair is first covered in colorant it will look absolutely black. Don't worry as once rinsed off I hope you'll be as delighted as I was. I was completely grey to start with but once the colorant was rinsed off my hair was dark (but not excessively so) with a hint of grey showing through. I was delighted with the result. I left it for 2-3 weeks then re-did it and the result a slightly darker colour which lasted longer. Psychologically...
