Shaving can be a chore, so anything that can make the process more enjoyable is in my view to be embraced. And what a pleasure it is to use this brush! I was in two minds weather to go with this brush or its smaller brother the BK8, having never used a large size brush before, but I am glad I went for the BK12. In use this brush delivers lather precisely to the areas you want it, even the upper lip, without getting lather all over the place, not what most people would expect from a large brush.

Silver tip is regarded as the finest 'cut' of badger hair and feels soft and luxurious on the face while still exfoliating the skin and lifting the beard. I have a selection of shaving soaps and creams and this brush is good to use with them all. In use a silver tip brush will absorb and hold more water than other grades of badger hair. If you are used so soaking your brush before lathering then this will make your lather too wet with this brush, due to the water held in the silver tip...

This really is a big brush but not too big. It is as soft on the tips as a very soft cloud, it holds enough lather for a full shave... There is no need to go and whip some more up for the last pass. It is not as floppy as I have read in some reviews on line, it is stiff enough to whip up a good rich creamy lather in my bowl before I painted it on my face with ease and no over painting despite the size of the brush. It's a tool for shaving yes but it looks so good standing next to my Feather AS D2 razor I didn't mind paying that little bit extra for it, I think it's worth it and I know I'm worth it!
