L`Oreal Men Expert Shave revolution Sensitive., 13 Nov. 2015

I've been using this for a week now and frankly, it hasn't really clicked with me.

Although it has a blueish tinge out of the tube, the gel is clear on application to the skin, which should be thoroughly wetted with hot water prior to use; as there is no foam, it's difficult to tell how consistent the coverage of your application has been and the cooling effect of the gel rapidly kicks in, which gives the disconcerting sensation of shaving with cold, rather than hot water, which I find unpleasant. Although I can see where the bearded areas are through the transparent gel, it is easier for me to miss some here and there – I have to wear my reading glasses to spot any missed areas unless I use a magnifying mirror; I am reduced to relying on touch and often have to make more passes with the blade than I would need than with easily seen conventional lather as a consequence.

Of course, I realise that this is down to my eyesight rather than the product, but it's still...

An Excellent Non-Foam Shave Gel., 30 Oct. 2015

Like most wet shavers I am always seeking the ultimate shaving experience.

new gels, oils, 3,4 and 5 blades and the like.

So when offered to test this Shave Gel I jumped at the chance.

This shave gel's big feature is 'ice effect'. In other words the shave oil cools the beard and face.

This seems to run against the old concept of a hot shave- towels hot water and a hot rinse.

I first came across this ice cool concept in Spain many years ago when I forgot to pack my regular shaving foam.

The Spanish stores seem to go wild on the ice cold and cool shaves.

I bought a can and was impressed.

Also I have a Philishave with an Ice bar which freezes as you draw it across your face and it cools.

So I do have a little experience of the cool effect.

This gel is really pleasant.

The first thing to hit you is a wonderful hit of scent that smacks of cool mint and ice.

Indeed it is hard to find the right...

L'Oréal

======

They are the largest cosmetics company in the world. They have loads of brands from Garnier, L'Oréal and have huge research facilities in respect of cosmetics. Just because they're the biggest doesn't mean they're the best. Equally, just because they're the biggest doesn't mean they're evil. I've tested loads of L'Oréal stuff ranging from WOW this should be on the NHS to Oh my golly gosh-this is dreadful.

OK? Let's go..
